Raising Explorers is an Ofsted regulated after school learning and childcare club, who provide childcare, social activities and playgroups for children. Raising Explorers offer homework support in a supportive and friendly environment.

When children at the after school club in Bradford started to brainstorm about how to raise money for a good cause they collectively arrived at an idea to host a spring bazaar, at which students and teachers from the after school club would help run stalls and activities.

The children at Raising Explorers who are based at the Carlisle Business Centre in Manningham were instrumental in making the day a true success.

They were involved in planning and co-ordination as well as taking part.

A number of stalls were on show in the bazaar which included amongst others a variety of clothes stalls. There was a selection of food stalls to ensure shoppers could try different snacks as well as food and delicacies ranging from a chocolate fountain to mouth watering cakes.
Many children enjoyed the event particularly with face painting among the many differing stalls.
Full advantage was taken of the bouncy castle by the kids, jumping around to burn off some calories that they had taken in during the day and also from consuming those yummy cakes!

Entertainment during the event included a performance of nasheeds by the children; which they had been preparing for in the run up to the event. The practice and hard work paid off when an excellent performance was delivered to the delight of the shopping crowd.

The event organised in partnership with Intouch Foundation & al Hikmah project (Keighley) managed to raise £2,750 for the cause.

The Manager from Raising Explorers said; “The turnout at the event was amazing especially considering the short space of time the event was put together. The turnout was tremendous, with hundreds of local people in attendance throughout the duration. I would like to express my appreciation on behalf of the staff and students to the team at Carlisle Business Centre especially Dom for his efforts, the local community for their continued support.

We had reached out to local businesses and asked for their partnership in making this event a success. We are in deep gratitude for the generosity of the local businesses who contributed in making the event the success it was.”
