Quran & Madrassah Services

Ages: 5-15

Due to our local demographics and being in a highly populated Muslim area, our survey results came back with a huge need and want for us at Raising Explorers to establish a classroom based fun and interactive learning environment for Muslim children.

As part of our day to day services, those parents needing a Quran and Madrassah service for their child can opt to have this built in with their childcare. We offer Islamically and academically qualified staff who teach classroom format learning for children, just as they would be taught at school through the week. Our ethos is Deen and Dunya learning.

Raising Explorers now offers 4 flexible Madrassah options for parents to consider:

Weekday Madrassah

At Raising Explorers we have identified the need to teach British Muslim children the Quran and Sunnah through fun and interactive western methods. Using experienced and qualified staff allows us to make use of different teaching styles, reinforce learning through presentations, role plays, worksheets, online resources, videos, Q&A sessions and fun.  Islam is a way of life and children need to be taught how to be influential Muslims in society, how to respect others and stay true to the values of their faith.

Each year we review our Madrassah system and invest heavily on improving teaching methods and curriculum. We bring in outside consultants to train our teachers, review our teaching methods and guide us on any areas of improvement. We select teachers through a vigorous recruitment process and ensure they all meet the minimum desired qualification. Each teacher as part of the recruitment process is observed in a classroom to prove their teaching skills in the classroom.

As parents you can keep an eye on your child’s progress daily or weekly by reviewing the trackers we put in place for each child. Children’s class room sizes usually consist of a maximum of 18 children. In each classroom, there is a minimum of 1 teaching assistant alongside the teacher thus allowing for a 1 to 9 ratio as a maximum.

As a centre we promote unity, respect and kindness to others.

We try to ensure no child leaves the centre without being prepared fully for every situation in life and knows how to apply their deen to it.

Weekend Madrassah Service

In 2019, we launched a Weekend Madrassah Service to provide more variety and options to parents wanting something on weekends for their child’s learning. Not everyone’s circumstances are the same and we appreciate some people have to travel long distances through rush hour traffic to get to us. Children are usually fresher on weekends due to not having to go school during the day before arriving.

The topics covered in the Weekend Madrassah Service are similar to those through the week.  We encourage children to revise through the week at home to maintain a good level of learning through their journey with us.

Sunday Madrassah Service

The Sunday Madrassah is a one day version of what is taught through the week and can be seen as a top up for children going to another Madrassah or as a one day alternative for children. Due to time restraints the core focus here is Quran, Qaidah and Islamic studies.

"I was reluctant to send my children to a typical madrassah system as I had so many fears. When I saw how this system is similar to schooling and with such friendly staff my fears were overturned. My son and daughter are now so happy and look forward to going the next day. They come home having learnt so much that I am forever in gratitude to Raising Explorers."

Special Educational Needs (SEND) Madrassah Service

We believe that every child should have the opportunity to learn their faith regardless of extra support they may require to assist them. Working closely with parents and teachers we have created the opportunity for SEND children to learn their Deen at their own pace in a maximum of a 1-3 ratio environment. We work with the child to assess their ability, use our experience to tailor the way we teach according to the child’s preferred learning style. We use a mixture of Audio, Visual and Kinesthetic techniques to capture their concentration.

Raising Explorers children can access 6 key services as part of our Out Of School Club that we have embedded into our weekly timetable here at the centre:
