This summer at Raising Explorers was packed full of excitement, learning, and unforgettable adventures! From big days out to creative activities at the centre, our Summer Holiday Club was designed to spark curiosity and bring joy to every child who joined us. Let’s take a closer look at everything we got up to this summer:
Annual Summer Trips
One of the biggest highlights of our summer programme is always our annual family trips, and this year was no different! We set off on four incredible journeys to Blackpool, Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Stockeld Park, and Gulliver’s World.
In Blackpool, children and parents soaked up the seaside magic — walking along the pier, enjoying the rides, and treating themselves to classic fish and chips. At Yorkshire Wildlife Park, our little explorers came face to face with polar bears, giraffes, lions, and tigers, learning about the wonders of the animal kingdom up close. Stockeld Park gave them the chance to step into a fairytale world, full of enchanting trails and playful adventures. And at Gulliver’s World, it was all about rollercoasters, funfair rides, and laughter all around.
These trips weren’t just about fun; they were about families coming together, building friendships, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Holiday Club Fun Day
If we had to sum up our Holiday Club Fun Day in one word, it would be EPIC! From the moment children walked through the gates, they were greeted with colour, sweet treats, and the promise of endless fun.
The day included everything children love: face painting that turned them into butterflies, superheroes, and princesses, henna painting with gorgeous designs, and an ice cream machine that kept everyone cool on a sunny day. The smell of sizzling barbecue burgers filled the air while children queued up for their turn on the bouncy castle. But perhaps the star of the show was the chocolate fountain, which flowed with rich chocolate to drizzle over strawberries, marshmallows, and donuts — a treat that had everyone coming back for more!
It was a day where laughter echoed, cameras clicked, and joy was everywhere. Truly one for the memory books!
Activity Galore
Back at the Raising Explorers centre, every day was packed with activities designed to inspire creativity, confidence, and teamwork.
Our budding artists enjoyed arts and crafts, from painting colourful masterpieces to designing mushroom fairytale wooden houses straight out of a storybook. Budding bakers had their turn in the kitchen, whipping up sweet treats like strawberry-and-chocolate desserts, gooey cookies, and crunchy Rice Krispie creations that filled the centre with delicious smells.
Of course, no holiday club would be complete without sports! Our children played football matches in the park, where team spirit and friendly competition shone through. Indoors, the sports hall buzzed with activity as children played team games, practiced coordination skills, and kept active while having fun with their friends.
Every activity gave children the chance to explore their talents, build confidence, and simply have fun in a safe and supportive environment.
Exploring Bradford with Local Outings
We also made the most of everything Bradford has to offer by organising local outings that blended learning with play.
Children loved strawberry picking, filling their baskets with sweet, juicy strawberries (and sneaking a few to taste along the way!).
A trip to the Science and Media Museum sparked curiosity as they learned about space, sound, physics, and light through interactive exhibits. At Tag X, it was all about teamwork and friendly challenges, while bowling brought out plenty of strikes, spares, and laughter. And of course, the cinema trip gave everyone a chance to sit back, relax, and enjoy a big-screen adventure together.
These outings gave our children the chance to see their city in new ways, learn outside the classroom, and share fun experiences with their friends.
Thank You! 💛

Seeing the joy on the children’s faces, the friendships they built, and the skills they developed made every activity worthwhile.
