What began as a simple idea to create a safe, nurturing space where children can learn, explore and grow with confidence has quickly grown into a thriving community full of connection and curiosity. Raising Explorers Leeds was opened with the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to discover meaningful experiences and explore the world through play and creativity.
Over the year, this journey would not have been possible without the incredible support from our families, wonderful children, schools and the local community. The trust, enthusiasm and encouragement we have received have helped shape Raising Explorers into what it is today, and we are beyond grateful to everyone who has been a part of our journey.
Our Journey in the First Year
Our first year has been a journey filled with learning, resilience and growth. We faced multiple challenges throughout the year, from establishing routines and reaching families to adapting our sessions to meet the diverse needs of every individual child in our community, ensuring we provide a service for everyone.
Through patience, reflection and commitment to our values, these challenges became opportunities to improve and strengthen the services we provide. We quickly saw a steady increase in the number of children and families joining our sessions. Most importantly, we have built a strong and trusting relationship with the Leeds community, particularly in Harehills and the surrounding areas, by creating a welcoming environment where families feel supported, heard and valued at Raising Explorers.

Our after-school pick-up service has proven to be highly effective and has become a vital part of daily life for many families. Children are safely collected from their schools by our trusted, trained staff and escorted to Raising Explorers, ensuring a seamless and reassuring transition from the school day into a relaxed childcare environment.
