What services are offered?

As part of our focus to provide more comprehensive extra-curricular activities within Raising Explorers, we offer a ‘supplementary’ Islamic and Arabic Madrassah for parents just like you, who require this blessed service for their child.

Combining a popular (yet optional) Arabic School on Sundays, Raising Explorers provides a thorough teaching curriculum 5-days a week (weekdays after-school); encompassing Sunnah, and Qur’anic studies with emphasis on Tajweed (ﺗﺠﻮﻳﺪ).

What is Tajweed?

Tajwid is an Arabic word for meaning ‘correct pronunciation during recitation’. It is a rule-set dictating how the holy Qur’an should be read by all persons. It’s a root word of ‘ja-wa-da’ which means to make better, or improve.

‘And recite the Qur’an in slow measured rhythmic tone’. (Al Qur’an; 73:4)

Why is Tajweed important?

Tajweed helps to prevent error and distortion occurred upon recitation of the Qur’an. Muslim scholars feared the perpetration of errors – and decided that rules should be set and recorded. Scholars have referred to this as the ‘Science of Tajweed’.

Who can benefit from these services?

Children between the ages of 5 and 15 can benefit wholly from our exceptional Islamic Studies curriculum provided at our centre in Bradford.

Please find below, a simplified schedule of what services are provided on each day of the week, and the times of each service.

If you’d like a more detailed overview of classes and topics taught, please register you child today or call our team at the centre on 01274 493034.

Weekday Madrassah) Between Monday to Friday your child is able to expand on their knowledge on; Qaida Reading with Tajweed, Qur’an Reading with Tajweed, Hifz/memorisation of Surah’s, Hadith, Seerah – Life of the Prophets, Qur’an Translation, Arabic Language, Islamic Studies, Islamic Assembly, Application of deen into dunya, Character building, Respecting your parents, Making Wudu, How to pray Salah and the different types, Duas and Kaalimah’s, Allah swt’s 99 names.

The Sunday Arabic school is a one day version of what is taught through the week and can be seen as a top up for children going to another madrassah or as a one day alternative. The one day version is less intensive and runs at a slower rate to the weekday madrassah service above mainly due to it being less days and hours overall.

I was reluctant to send my children to a typical madrassah system as I had so many fears. When I saw how this system is similar to schooling and with such friendly staff my fears were overturned. My son and daughter are now so happy and look forward to going the next day. They come home having learnt so much that I am forever in gratitude to Raising Explorers.
