As we look back on an exciting October and the start of November at Raising Explorers, we are filled with joy and gratitude for another month packed with celebrations, creativity, and learning. Here’s a recap of all the memorable moments!
12 Years of Raising Explorers!
October marked an exciting milestone: our 12th anniversary!
In celebration of this journey, our team beautifully decorated the lobby and centre with stunning, picturesque decor. We invited our wonderful parents—who have been such an essential part of our story—to a tea party complete with delicious treats. Our celebration was filled with dessert options, spicy samosa chaat, an abundance of tea, and plenty of smiles. It was the perfect way to recognise our achievements and connect with the community that’s been there every step of our 12-year adventure!
Dental Hygiene Day: A Healthy Lesson for Bright Smiles
During October, we hosted a special guest who gave our children a hands-on lesson in dental hygiene. With the help of a life-sized model of teeth, our children learned proper brushing techniques, how long they need to brush for, and other essential tips for keeping their smiles healthy. The kids were fully engaged, enjoying the interactive demonstration while learning habits that will help them maintain good oral health for years to come.
Autumn Adventures: Highlights from Our 2024 October Holiday Club
Our October Holiday Club was all about fun, discovery, and hands-on experiences for the kids! From energetic outdoor play to creative indoor activities, there was something for everyone:
Outdoor Fun: Our older kids were all smiles as they bounced, flipped, and laughed through thrilling air-bouncing sessions. Laser tag was another big favourite, with kids eagerly teaming up, strategizing, and diving into friendly competition. Meanwhile, this holiday club, our 9+ girls and juniors enjoyed cosy afternoons at the cinema, where they settled in with popcorn, drinks, and a feel-good movie.
Lister Park Excursion: A trip to Lister Park brought endless excitement. Kids raced down slides, climbed on frames, and filled the playground with laughter and joy. It was a perfect day for active play and outdoor exploration!
Baking and Cooking Creations: Our mini chefs embraced their inner bakers, learning the steps to make delicious cheesecakes. But that wasn’t the only aroma filling the centre’s corridors! Over the week, our children had a blast creating loaded nachos, crafting pizza baguettes, and making cheese and onion pastries. Not only did they enjoy tasty treats, but they also practiced essential skills, from mixing ingredients to decorating.
Creative Crafts: Our young crafters dove into a world of creativity with activities that had something for everyone! They made their own 3D binoculars, decorating them with colourful tape and stickers to create the perfect explorer gear. The fun didn’t stop there—they also crafted felt crowns, each as unique as the kids wearing them, and fit for any little prince or princess. Hamma bead creations were a huge hit, with kids designing vibrant patterns and fun shapes they could proudly take home. From monster party hats to crunchy slime, each craft was an explosion of colour, creativity, and pure joy, bringing out the artist in every child.
A Fresh New Look for Our Building!
